Moreland City Council goes SaaS with Open Office

Council’s strategy is to be a SaaS (Software as a Service) focused organization. Following a recent competitive tendering process, the City of Moreland chose the superior Community Suite provided by Open Office. The project which encompasses Finance, Payroll, Human Resources and other associated modules will be implemented in the next 12 months. The evaluation emphasis was on the “strategic and customer centric”, rather than any one specific single point of minor operational functionality. Council also expects to achieve major cost savings by adopting an established Cloud solution.

Moreland Council will partner with Open Office to implement the modern business solution which will provide many opportunities for internal process and workflow improvements and efficiencies in both time and cost.

Kingborough and Huon Councils choose Open Office Community Finance and Assets solution

Open Office are very excited to announce the addition of two new Councils to its growing customer base. Kingborough Council and the Huon Valley Council in Tasmania recently tendered for a Financial Management Information system and chose Open Office as the successful partner to implement its Finance, Payroll and Asset Management solution.

Background

Kingborough Council and the Huon Valley Council were seeking a Financial Management Information System to replace its existing systems. The project will be a key strategic direction for both Councils as they commit to providing a cost effective integration with in-house system support which has been a significant driver in seeking the replacement of products. There was also an expectation that the proposed system would demonstrate granular integration across all modules including asset based labour and plant commitments and actual costing.

Both Council’s invested significant time and energy in completing a comprehensive review of current business operations with staff prior to commencing the process. They selected the Open Office solution for its integration capabilities and advanced mobility which will provide both Councils with all of the required functionality complemented by a fully web/mobile enabled system.
